Saugerties NY Real Estate Listings
More on Saugerties, NY Real Estate
The Saugerties real estate market features many charming traditional houses that ooze character and are surrounded by the quiet sounds and sights of nature. From sprawling Victorian homes built in the early 20th century to lovely Colonials and log cabins constructed towards the turn of the century to a variety of quaint cottages and farmhouses, there is no shortage of architectural styles to choose from here. There are also a few lovely waterfront homes in Saugerties, as the town sits on the edge of the Hudson River and is intersected by Esopus Creek.
In addition to the beautiful scenery all around, the other thing that most Saugerties homes for sale have in common is that they're located on spacious properties. Single-family homes in the outskirts of town are generally situated on lots that are upwards of five acres, while even homes on or near Main Street have a yard that's easily big enough to entertain guests, start a garden, or watch your kids play.
Prices of Saugerties homes for sale are very reasonable. You can find many gorgeous homes with over 2,000 square feet of interior space in the heart of town for less than $300,000. Even the largest homes on the biggest properties with the most privacy can usually be bought for around $600,000, so the permanent or vacation home of your dreams might be in Saugerties.
Saugerties Lifestyle
Even though you can relax and enjoy a variety of scenic views in and around Saugerties, you won't find a more eclectic series of shops in this artsy town. Classic businesses like the Rockstar Rodeo furniture and decor store, Saugerties Antique Center, and the Pink Chandelier vintage clothing store mix with some of the hip, younger stores and tasty diners along Main Street and Partition Avenue. You can grab a bite to eat at Village Pizzeria, Miss Lucy's Kitchen, Dallas Hot Weiners, or the Village Diner, and then enjoy the wide selection of craft beers at Dutch Ale House.
For a town with a population of only 20,000, Saugerties certainly has a bustling town center. That said, it's also ideal for the outdoor sports lovers. You can swim, kayak, and fish on the Esopus Creek and Hudson River or you can cruise around in your boat thanks to the public launch points.
The Cantine Field includes all types of sporting facilities such as basketball and tennis courts, soccer and baseball fields, and an ice rink. There's also a playground for the kids and a picnic area for the whole family.
The Saugerties Village Beach just south of the town center is another great place for the family, as is Bristol Beach just a few minutes north of Saugerties.
