(This property is in Middleburgh, in the Town of Fulton, in Schoharie Co.) Turn off Rte 30 and follow the fence-lined driveway leading to the first two of the four distinctive white clapboard buildings on the property. The farmhouse is at the right, while the darling guest house is straight ahead. Further off to the left is the enormous farm barn, and tucked off to the right of the house is the smaller "party barn". Wrapping around much of the three sides of the property is a wide expanse of the neighboring farm’s cornfield, with the Schoharie Creek beyond. The ground floor of the house includes a number of public rooms that flow from one to the other, including a living room and dining room featuring rows of large, paned windows, which are really the stars of the show. Most of the windows in the house were replaced in 2015, although some originals downstairs remain, and those have storm windows. There is a former porch off the kitchen that was converted into a sun room that also can also serve as a fourth bedroom, and features a cast iron wood stove that is wonderfully efficient, providing significant heat for the house in winter. The open country kitchen with its glossy beadboard walls and ceiling, and vintage porcelain sink, includes plenty of butcher block counter space. There is a delightful powder room on this level. Upstairs are three bedrooms and a beautifully renovated full bathroom with claw foot tub and tiled walk-in shower. The Guest House, also with four bedrooms, is spacious, albeit more rudimentary in terms of bathroom and kitchen. That fabulous large upstairs bedroom with French doors and balcony shown in the slideshow is in the Guest House. The building is usable in winter, but with electric baseboard heat only, the owners normally close it down after New Year’s. The owners have thrown some epic parties in the picturesque barn with its gambrel roof and soaring ceiling. It has electric and a terrific wood stove, and awaits the creativity of its new owner. On the other side of the property, the truly cavernous upstairs space in the “Farm Barn” cries out for a square dance, a theatrical production or huge family reunion. It’s pretty mind-bending.

Mortage Calculator

This mortgage calculator can be used to figure out monthly payments of a home mortgage loan, based on the home's sale price, the term of the loan desired, buyer's down payment percentage, and the loan's interest rate. This calculator factors in PMI (Private Mortgage Insurance) for loans where less than 20% is put as a down payment. Also taken into consideration are the town property taxes, and their effect on the total monthly mortgage payment.
