Kingston NY is a city that is deeply rooted in this country’s history. Kingston New York is located right at the base of the Catskill Mountains & continues to the Hudson River. There are two different and distinct neighborhoods in the City of Kingston.

The uptown area, also known as the Stockade District, was actually the very first capital of New York State. The Uptown Kingston area features a covered sidewalk, and many lovely shops, cafes, bookstores and local businesses. The Uptown neighborhood also hosts the Kingston Farmer’s Market, every Saturday during the summer and early fall.

The Roundout is called that, because it was, as mentioned earlier, its own village. It is also known as the Roundout-West Strand Historic District. Many people just call it The Strand. The area borders on the Roundout Creek, which empties into the Hudson through a large and protected tidal area. The area is now home to many art galleries, restaurants and stores.

The area is host to many events every year. On October 17th the town reenacts the burning of Kingston, as it was done by the British in 1777! Of course none of the buildings are damaged in the process!

The city of Kingston is located on the West Bank of the Hudson, across the river from Rhinebeck New York! The area is still home to many notable and historic buildings. Most notably the Senate house, which was built in 1670 and served as the capital building during the revolutionary war!

The Kingston NY area continues to grow, but the regulation of the area keeps is free of sprawl and continues to be increasingly attraction to residential and commercial buyers!
