To There and Back Again: An Agent's Tale

I grew up in Queens, New York. Still my favorite place in the world. Queens is the melting pot of melting pots. There you can find everyone and everything from all over the world. Living in that kind of envoronment taught me that everyone has a story, so I became a collector of stories. I learned to love to listen. To find even more interesting persepctives I started working in the music industry. And that brought an even more fascinating collection of stories with it.

I spent my teens and twenties sweating it out in clubs and studios, meeting everyone from industry legends to bright up-and-comer's destined to be legends. And of course, tons of people just like me; an artistic personality just looking to be heard.

Though New York City attracts everyone from around the world, sooner or later it is time to head out into the territories. If you want to know, you got to go, as they say. So I traveled around the Eastern seaboard chasing my professional musician dreams. I played in nearly every type of band except jazz and heavy metal. Not for lack of love, but knowing that wasn't where my heart truly lied. After taking up residency in New Jersey and Pennsylvania for a stretch, I was inevitably drawn back to New York. But this time I would trade the bustling sidewalks of the city for the rolling, pastural beauty of the Hudson Valley.

Though I still love music and art, the life of a professional, traveling musician is one of insecurity. And I realized my main love wasn't being on stage, but hearing everyone's stories. All the life lessons, all the dreams, all the missed opportunities, the loves and losses. These are what make us who we are.

In late 2021, when we were all still in lockdown I truly felt the absence of people. And I knew I had to put this downtime to good use. So I thought, "How can I put all of my creativity to use while still meeting new people, seeing new places, but without lugging around hundreds of pounds of equipment?" Voila! I decided to get my real estate license.

Since then I have put my skills from music to exceedingly good use in real estate. Being a musician and a fantastic real estate agent both require attentiveness, timing, the ability to improvise on the fly, genuine interest in people's goals and the process to acheive them, professionalism, the ability to negotiate, and a general wanderlust that keeps one seeking new experiences.

With all that in my heart and mind, since being licensed I have worked in nearly facet of real estate. Residential, commercial, rentals; I have seen it all. Whether buying or selling, I believe everyone needs the same thing. Someone to hear their wants and needs and do their duty to in helping reach the next level. That is who I am and that is what I do!
